Writer's Block

Writer's block is a very serious condition. It can cause even the most composed, talented authors to go into hysterics and threaten their precious writing with a match, a gun, a bomb (pretty much whatever you happen to have available in the house).
No one knows what causes writer's block... it may happen when your mind decides that it doesn't like the wonderful writing streak your enjoying, and goes on strike long enough to drive you absolutely crazy. It may be because your hand refuse to match the words in your head with the ones on the computer sceen, or the peice of paper. It might be that some ghostly phychic crept into your head while you were busy watching that TV show and stole all of your long awaited ideas.
...Lack of sleep can do it too, come to think of it.
One of the most common questions in America is: How do you defeat writer's block?
(Personally, I like to paraphrase the question and say, "How do you threaten writer's block with a heavy mallet and shove it down the deepest hole you can find, laughing like a mental patient the entire time?" ...but that's not important right now).
Do you remember the feeling you get, when you're sitting at a clean, organized desk, with a nicely sharpened pencil beside you? (or a pen, if you're really feeling brave). With that crisp, fresh piece of paper laying out infront of you, practically begging for you to write on every single square inch of it? Try it again. Forget your stubborn story for a short while, and start another story. Eventually, the story (or whatever you were having the writer's block on) will realize that unless it behaves, you'll continue to ignore it. Sooner or later, you'll sit down with it, and it'll be a joy writing again. Just make sure you have it promise to be a good and co-operative little devil this time.
Or, if you're like me at the moment, you have a deadline. You sit down, get ready to start writing about whatever you need to, and your mind goes blank. You try ripping your hair out, smashing your face on your keyboard, blaring the Mission Impossible theme song to a deafining volume. But, of course, doing all of this just makes you look (and feel) totally insane, and you don't want to be on the top of the list for the neighbors topic of conversation for the next few months.
As for a sane theory... try taking a walk. Mowing the lawn. Cleaning something (your room, your house, your car. It really helps). Sometimes, even a little nap will jog your stubborn subconcious, and you'll wake up with a few new ideas.
Overall, I think we have discovered that writer's block is a pain. But, believe it or not, defeating it (or threatening it with a heavy mallet and shove it down the deepest hole you can find, laughing like a mental patient the entire time) IS possible.
...I think.

Happy writing! >;)

Caffeine

Oh, caffeine, my long lost friend...

I must say, caffeine is one of the most backstabbing, cruel, and purly evil friend I've ever had.

Have I ever mentioned how much caffeine affects me? Well, it does. A lot.
Have you ever watched Hoodwinked? If so, do you remember Twitchy? The annoying (yet, cute) little squirrel whotalkslikethis?
That, my dear friends, if exactly what I am like after one cup of soda. Especially at nighttime.

Last week, or there about, I saw a can of soda in the fridge. Now, I am absolutely no good at self-denial. There were no witnesses around. I had half an hour to kill before I would have to get to bed, in order to get a decent amount of sleep. One little can of soda couldn't hurt, right?
Wrong.
I was up four more hours than I expected. What was I doing during those four hours of hyper insaneness?
I sat in the middle of my room. And I laughed.
What was I laughing about? Only God knows...
I think I may have done things in-between my laughter-fits... like pray. Or clean. Or possibly even worked on my story outline.
Mind you, this was at 12:00am-4:00am, so I couldn't blast any music, use the computer, or do something else mindlessly crazy and completely insane.
So, there you have it. And the best part is... I had to get up at 5:45am. Pure joy.

Now. This is exactly why I am never... ever... drinking coffee.

*coughs*

Well! Now, on to some blog-related things!
You may have noticed the couple of changes I made in the layout... feedback would be appriciated! ;)
I am also editing my playlist a bit! I've gotten some positive comments on it, and I'd like to thank all of you for listening to it! ^_^
I just noticed I now have 10 followers! Thank you so much everyone... it means a lot that y'all put up with my utter nut-cakeness :)
(My new word: nutcake. It's perfect.)

And lastly... life! ;P
I'm starting to get really, really excited for this year's annual picnic at my church! It always turns out veddy fun, and everyone has crazy stories to share afterwards! Of course, I know more people this year than I did last year, and I think it'll be more fun! Plus, I can make them try the brownies I make every year... *nods*
Also, I've started to go outside everynight, and sit on my front porch in the moonlight, and pray.
^that sounds quite cheesy and thilly indeed... but it's extremely peaceful! It feels unimaginably good to just pray and think in the breathtaking scenery... I love it. ^_^

Happy Birthday Ivy!!

It's my dear friend, Ivy/Blanche's birthday today! She's turning 17... years... old...
If anyone knows of anything that can make her stop growing while I catch up, let me know! ;)

For the past week, I've wanted to write her an incredibly sappy post... and I'm going to do that now!

Even though we've been going to the same church for as long as I can remember, I didn't really start to get to know Ivy until fall of '09.
And ever since then, she's done so much for me!
When my conformation sponsor left for Italy, two people have sort of "filled in" the gap that she left. One of them being Ivy! I've often turned to her for advice, to rant (hehe...) and for a friend! She is a wonderful young lady, sweet, caring, and incredibly fun to talk to! (see? I told you it was going to be sappy!)
Ivy introuduced me to the Fairy Tale Novels, and to the FTN fourm, which have been pretty big in my life...!
She's written so many great stories, and continues to amaze me with her writing skills.
She has a beauuuutiful voice!
She's not shy, but not loud... she's actually a perfect mix between the two!
And, of course... she's gorgeous!

Now... I thiiink I've got everything I was going to add, but she does have so many more talents!
Ivy, have a GREAT birthday, and know you're loved!!!

For fun!

Thanks to, Blanche for tagging me in this! (I feel like giving you a hug right now ^_^ )

Choose any amount of friends real or blog and say at least two things or more that you admire or like about them. Tag and make sure you link to them. (I'm posting all of my followers, and a couple of other friends!) -ahem- yes, most, if not, all of my followers are from the FTN fourm :P

Rosie - FTN Fourm
Rose is a wonderful friend, and second mother!
I do love her sense of humor, her motherly-ness, and her friendly nature!
But most of all, I love how she is constantly striving to become better in her faith.

Kathleen - FTN Fourm
Kath is nice, friendly, and so sweet!
Plus, she has the same nickname as me! ;)
what I admire most about Kathleen, is her nice-ness!

BlancheRose - FTN Fourm/Church
Blanchey! She's so sweet, and one of the most excellent writers out there.
I expect Blanche to publish at least a couple sucessful books.
Needless to say, one of the things I love most about Blanche, is her writing skills. She can make the simpliest things sound so powerful and meaningful.

Lizzy (Lady Eliza) - FTN Fourm
I've never met Eliza IRL (yet!) but I very much hope to!
I can share a lot with Lizzy, if not, everything! We're two years apart in age, but all in all pretty good friends ^_^
The thing I like most about Lizzy... is... how mature she is! She can handle things some adults couldn't, and can do it with patience and understanding!

Maria/Rose - FTN Fourm
Maria is one of my best friends that are near my age. She's lovable, kind, sweet, and likes foxies! ;)
She's always so sympathetic, and can understand me better than I can understand me!

Kitty/Liz - FTN Fourm
Hmm... in the short time I've talked to Kitty, there is so much to say about her!
One is that she's my two-years-apart-from twin! ;)
(we have the same birthday)
she's wonderful at giving reveiws, opinions, and anything of the sort! :)

Ella - FTN Fourm
Ella is one of the sweetest people I know!
She's great at thinking of new, thilly words, nicknames, and stories!
I very highly doubt that even the most serious person could spend one minute with her without bursting out in giggles. ^_^

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I need to dedicate a post to my, wonderful, loving, sweet, and amazing [2nd] mom, Rose Marchen! *applaud*

She is 18 today... now fully a young lady. 4 years older than myself... since I can't really give her anything on her day, (other than lots of prayers) I'm going to copy what the sisters did in Midnight Dancers for Prisca's birthday.

Rose Marchen
The thing I like best about Rose? That would have to be her sense of humor! She can always, always get you up when your feeling down, she can say things that make me laugh so hard, that people stare at me like I have lobsters crawling out of my ears. Rose is just an overall wonderful person, and I pray she has many more birthday's to come :)

And I never want to see you again!

The title of this post is from "Waking Rose" by Regina Doman, and is being applied to my prescription.

Yep, I'm sick again. I have yet another wonderful infection; but it was caught early this time, thankfully. On my way home from the hospital, my mom and I had to pick up the prescription from the store, but we didn't have any money... so I have to wait to get it over with. Plus, I have a killer headache/migraine. It's dreadful. But I took some medicine earlier, so it's gone for now.

I know this sounds dull, but that's because I feel dull. I feel very sick right now, actually. Which means I should probably get off the computer...

Please excuse all of the misspellings, errors, etc... I'm not feeling my best. (Have I mentioned that, before?)

For fun

I got this from Lady Blanche Rose! :D

First, list twelve characters from any fandom, then answer the questions below.

1. Fish (Benidect) Denniston
2. Gandalf
3. Rose Brier
4. Susan Pevensie
5. Barney the purple dinosaur ( :P )
6. Tom Sawyer
7. Romeo
8. Juliet
9. Ebenezer Scrooge
10. Jane Eyre
11. Odd Thomas
12. Blanche Brier

1. Who would make a better collage prof, 6 or 11? Tom Sawyer and Odd? Absolutly, Odd!

2. Do you think #2 is hot? HAHAHAHA!!! Gandalf? I need to answer that?

3. 12 sends 8 out on a mission. What is it? Does it succeed? Blanche sends Juliet on a mission... it would probably be to let Bear know where Blanche is, and what's happening to her. Whether Juliet succeeds or not, I'll never know.

4. What is or what would be 9's favorite book? Susan Pevensie... probably something incredebly boring.

5. Would it make more since for 2 to swear fealty to 6, or the other way around? Absolutely the other way around!

6. For some reason, 5 is looking for a roommate. Should (s)he room with 9 or 10? HA! Barney? With Scrooge or Jane Eyre? That's a toughie... I'll have to say Scrooge, tho!

7. 2, 7 and 12 are going out to dinner. Where do they go and what do they discuss? Gandalf, Romeo, and Blanche... interesting combination! They'd probably like a very fancy restaurant, and talk about a whole lot of different things!

8. 3 challenges 10 to a duel, who wins? Rose Brier challenges Jane Eyre? Well, of course Rose would win!

9. If 1 stole 8's most precious possession, how would (s)he get it back? Fish steal Juliet's most precious possession... Juliet would most likely make a huge deal out of it, and get someone stronger than Fish to get it back.

10. Suggest a story title in which 7 and 12 both attain what they desire. A Memorable Journey.

11. What kind of plot device would you have to use if you wanted 1 and 4 to work together? Fish and Susan... well, their both practical, and I think they may work together nicely!

12. If 7 visited you for the weekend, how would it go? One word: Awful.

13. If you could command 3 to perform any service or task for you, what would it be? Rose? I would make her give me all of her scarves! >:D

14. Does anyone on your friends list write or draw 11? Odd? I doubt it.

15. If 2 had to choose sides between 4 and 5, what side would (s)he choose? Gandalf between Susan, and Barney... I'll guess Susan ;)

16. What might 10 shout out while charging into battle? Wow... I have no idea!

17. If you had to choose a song to best describe 8, what would it be? "Love Story"

18. 1, 6 and 12 are having a dim sum at a Chinese Restaurant. There is only one scallion pancake left, and they all reach for it at the same time. Who gets it? Either Tom or Blanche. Fish would pull back after seeing others wanted it, and Blanche would feel bad about reaching like that, so long story short, Tom would.

19. What would be a good pickup line for 2 to say to 10? Gandalf to Jane Eyre? *shrugs*

20. What would 5 most likely be arrested for? Hmm... Barney could be arrested for a lot of things, but probably scaring poor children to death. :P

21. What is 6's secret? Haha! Need you ask?

22. If 11 and 9 were racing to a destination, who would get there first? Odd for sure.

23. If you had to walk home through a bad neighborhood late at night, who would you feel more comfortable walking with, 7 or 8? Err, Romeo.

24. 1 and 9 reluctantly team up to save the world from the threat posed by 4's sinister secret organization. 11 volunteers to help them, but it is later discovered that s/he is actually a spy for 4. Meanwhile, 4 has kidnapped 12 in an attempt to force their surrender. Following the wise advice of 5, they seek out 3, who gives them what they need to complete their quest. What title would you give this fic? Weird. :P Fish and Scrooge team up? Not a chance. Rose being evil? And BARNEY being WISE?! No way!
